Having never been to Spa I arrived excited if a little apprehensive at the thought of racing here with only two Friday test sessions to get a feel of the layout.
It was every thing I could have hoped for ,stunning track set in beautiful forest covered hills. The elevation changes (over 100m in a lap) that took me by surprise I qualified 20th of 36 and after a cautious start I picked up 3/4 places then on lap 4 rain added a further dimension to this already challenging circuit. A number of cars left the track and I was elated to finish in 12th place . Sunday morning was sunny the red lights went out and avoiding a number of first lap incidents I lost a few places.
Over the next few laps of amazing close racing I got back to 12th before a mistake saw me off the track and through a gravel trap I kept the car running and rejoined in 15th I finished the race with a huge smile on my face and a undamaged car. Thanks to all the caterham staff and fellow racers for making a dream come true, I'll remember that weekend for a long time to come.
